Sunday...again

So I know I already posted this morning, but that was for yesterday.

Tonight we are going to watch this show on Netflix about plastic. Danny and Michelle told us about it. I can't wait to see it and make some changes in my life.

Brett gave Emeli and I a Valentine's present last night. He bought me a cute little polka dot bag with a heart on the side. Inside was my newest favorite fragrance from BBW: pink chiffon. Yummy.

Today Emeli colored my hair for me. She does an amazing job. She is very thorough. She wants to go to beauty school, so for her, it is something she enjoys doing. It's really cute.

I am so blessed to have two of my children living with us. I love being alone with Robby, but I also love having Emeli and Brett here. I know that they are happy and emotionally safe here. Plus, they are fun to be with. We have some really good laughs. There is drama, but for the most part, it is wonderful. I am grateful.

Question of the day: How many photos did you take today? Well, I took no photos. But there is still time in the day for me to change that and I will. :D

Sunday

So I have been 48 for a week and I'm feeling my age. It scares me that I am just 2 years away from 50.

Yesterday we went on Robby's route. I packed us lunch and snacks. It's so cute when I do that because Robby will say, "Do you have any kind of snack? I am hungry." Sure enough, I have potato chips, oranges, diet coke, sandwiches, and then we usually go to Maverick (gas station) and buy candy. Emeli likes coming along for that. She also likes coming along for lunch out. Yesterday we knew we were going out for dinner with the Lunts, so we opted to pack. Emeli stayed home.

We saw the movie "Iron Lady" and it was good! There was a very emotional part at the end that had me wiping my eyes. I looked over and noticed Michelle was wiping her eyes, too. It made Robby and I wonder about how it will be when one of us dies. I hope Robby goes first. He will not be able to handle it if I go first and he is all alone. He agrees with that. It was very well done and I recommend it highly.

TGIF x 3

I cannot express to you how happy I am that it is Friday. I had a four day weekend and it was VERY hard for me to get back into the work groove thing. Not only that, but it was a psycho week.

Today's psycho story: a guy comes in whose clinical notes told about a visit to the ER because he was being transported in a prison van to appear in court. The sheriff driving the van took a corner too hard, so the patient (who was unbuckled) went flying into the mesh separating the driver from the passengers. It smashed his face. The same clinical note mentioned that the patient also had shot himself in the hand with a BB gun and when he was pulling the BB out, there was this brown pus that smelled awful. He came in today for a follow up on neck pain from a car accident this week. He had his wife and daughter with him. The woman looked broken. That's the kind of thing that hurts. I hate seeing that.

I am an empath. I sense things about people and places. I seem to invite people to tell me their life stories. I have had to become more abrupt with patients because it is not my job to find out all their history. That is the doctor's job. My sympathies have been used against me by patients, too. They can sense how I empathize and they play on it and try to get me to plead for things from the doctors. That pisses me off.

Today I am just glad it is Friday and I can relax all weekend.

blah...

Robby is at scouts right now. He doesn't like scouts. He says that the uniforms remind him of the Hitler youth in Germany. Not only that, he hates wearing khaki because it reminds him of the army. I have a picture that is so cute. He would NOT be happy if he knew I posted this pic...hahahaha!!!!

Yesterday I felt blah and today I do too. If I didn't know better, I would say it's PMS. But it's not.

I had to go to this stupid training for a program we run at work. It started at 9am and it ended at 1:30pm. It took an hour to get there each way. Pain in the butt. PLUS, it was all stuff that I will never do: set appointment. I don't set appointment. I give shots and take temperatures. Oh well, now I know what to do if I ever need to set up an appointment.

On the way there, I was listening to Taylor's list of best indie songs of 2011 and found a song that I have played all day long to the point where Emeli is laughing at me: "Pumped up Kicks". I love the beat.

We watched "Tron" with Brett last night until 11:30pm and by the time Robby settled down, it was midnight. I lay there thinking about how I will only have 6 1/2 hours of sleep. That's probably why I am crabby and lethargic.

Tomorrow I work in the morning, then I get off at 1ish and then I go back to work the night clinic from 5pm until 9:30. Blah again.

Monday

So I forgot to post on Sunday and I think on Saturday, too. I know I promised every day, but there are days that I just completely forget!!!

On Friday I was painting a rocking chair for Zoe and it looks so cute. I was working on it on Saturday and Sunday. It's still not done. As soon as I do one thing, I change my mind and go in another direction. So this chair has many layers of paint. But it looks really cute so far.

Yesterday Emeli made my birthday really sweet. She baked orange rolls in the morning and made me breakfast. Then she made me a birthday cake and these yummy cream cheese oreo cupcakes. They were really rich. One time I came out to the kitchen while she was baking and I asked her if she was enjoying my birthday more than I was. She just looked up at me and smirked. It was a nice, relaxing day and I enjoyed it very much.

This morning I got a call from a girl at work who is notorious for calling in sick on Mondays. It never fails: if I am off on a Monday and I stay up late, she will call me at 7:38am and ask me to go in for her. I am usually in bed, asleep. That means I have to hop into the shower and get ready FAST! I need to be there at 8am. I usually call Jan, my supervisor, and let her know I am coming in for this woman and I will be there by 8:30, which is when we usually see our first patients. Today I didn't get the phone. I figured this woman can figure it out. I am tired of rushing to get there for her when she only calls me at 7:38. And the funny thing is: it is ALWAYS 7:38. It's like she sits around and waits for that exact time and THEN she calls me. It pisses me off like nothing else. So today I didn't answer.

When the phone rang, it said her name along with the ring. Robby and I both groaned and said, "No." She has done this way too many times. The sad thing is this woman is on probation for her attendance, yet she still does this. Whatever.

Robby and I are going to drive to Heber today to see the new sales office for Richmond American homes. Robby has to draw maps for sign placement. So we are going for a nice drive. Heber is pretty, but it is way out in BFE and I would hate to live there. When there is a huge snow storm, you are literally trapped in that little valley. At least they have a hospital and a Walmart, so you are not completely isolated. But still, no thanks!!! Plus, it is always about 10 degrees colder than Provo. blah.

Friday

I know I didn't post yesterday. I can't remember what my excuse was.

Question of the day...What is the last thing you apologized for? I can't remember. That's not good if I can't remember when I last apologized. It's probably because I live such a perfect life that I never need to apologize. Chances are it was a silly apology and not worth remembering.

It was Robby's and my anniversary yesterday, so we celebrated at Tucano's. Tucano's is a cool restaurant. There is a HUGE salad bar and it's all you can eat meat. The waiters bring skewers of meat around to your table, slice off a bite for you to eat and you wait for the next waiter to bring you something. Surprisingly, you get full really fast. It's pretty pricey, so Robby and I only go during our birthday months when we can use our birthday coupons for a free meal. It was awesome, of course. However, we usually eat so much that we are sick the rest of the day. You feel like you have to eat your money's worth. Next door is Rocky Mountain Chocolates. They have THE best caramel apples. So we bought one for Brett and Emeli. It was a Reese's caramel apple. Brett snarfed his down immediately. Emeli still has hers, I think.

On the way home, we stopped at Petco to see if they have any ferrets. They had about eight baby ferrets. One of them was masked like Bandit and it was so cute. It was the tiniest one and it was a female. She had so much spunk that when Robby stuck his hand in the cage, she literally climbed up his arm, stepping on all the other ferrets to get to him first. We were in love. She was on sale, so we bought her and took her home. She is my birthday/anniversary present. When we came into the house with her, Emeli was so excited. I named her Rosie. Bandit loves her. He follows her around, sniffing her bum. This morning, they were snoozing in my pile of yarn by the couch. Rosie was trying to nibble on Bandit's ear. He kept shaking his head. Then he stopped shaking his head and let her suck on his ear. She was suckling his ear like she would have when she was nursing her mom. It was so cute. He just lay there and let her do it to his ear. She will fall asleep in our arms and sleep there. None of our other ferrets have ever let us hold them like that. It's really sweet. She is also a huge kisser. She is a sweetie and I already love her.

Today I spent the day finally painting Zoe's rocking chair, which I have had for at least four months. I need to get it done before I start on Taylor and Emma's quilt, which will involve a lot of time. Brett and Emeli are going to help me and they are really excited. It's going to be really cute.

Now I am going to bed because I am tired and tomorrow is a day of traveling for Robby's work...blah.

Today

So last night I blogged all about this crazy lady that came into the clinic and as I was proofing it, I felt really bad about talking about her, so I deleted the blog and went to sleep. So I technically blogged yesterday, but didn't post it, so it still counts, right?

Today is a day off, Robby is working with Jose, the guy who puts up the huge signs on the roads. So I am all alone today until Emeli comes home from school and Brett comes home from work. I love it!!! I miss Robby, but I'm getting a ton done. Right now I am eating a lunch of left over brats, a dill pickle, a pile of my favorite potato chips and a diet coke on ice. Radiohead is playing in the background. Life is good :D

I just got back from walking to Walmart. I bought a chicken for tonight's dinner, a white cake mix and little Valentine's candy to top the cupcakes. I'm a sucker for Valentine's day and since it is February 1st, let the pink begin.

I only work tomorrow in the morning and then I have Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday off. Not a bad way to spend my anniversary and birthday weekend. I got a coupon in the mail for a free dinner at Tucano's. It is a Brazilian grill that is all you can eat. You literally need to be rolled out of the place! We are going there tomorrow afternoon with the coupon for our anniversary. Yummy! My favorite thing there? The grilled pineapple. I could eat just that and be happy.
