Saturday we went to Logan to check out Zoe's legs and to see little Liam. Liam is a little doll. D'Jayden was with Jason's parents having a one-on-one time. He is feeling pretty left out, so it was good.
I worked all day Monday and was completely exhausted because the night before our neighbor's music was playing until 12:30am. I was laying in bed seething. I was planning on walking early in the morning at the gym before work. I ended up just walking at lunch instead.
Tuesday was a day off and I went and got my nails done. Robby had given me a gift certificate for Valentine's day, but my nails were all different lengths. So I waited until they were all roughly the same and went. It was wonderful.
Today I worked all day again. I am on this diet and have lost four pounds so far. I feel better than I have felt in a LONG time. I forgot how good I feel when I exercise. Yesterday I had walked for 40 minutes at a brisk pace, so I was allowed to eat 300 more calories.
We had a drug rep come in with a huge basket filled with all these chocolatey baked goods. Two chocolate cakes, brownies, homemade oreo cookies, cake pops, and pretzel turtles. It was pure evil. The doctors were teasing me that the chocolate cake tasted awful. Dr. Nielson said, "This cake is so bad. But I think I'll have another slice just for the team." Doctor Smithson was saying, "This cake is so bad, you have to try it, Dr. Lehnardt." I was laughing so hard. Jan was making gagging faces as she ate a slice and told me it was really dry. Yeah right!!!! I ended up trying one of the cake pops and it was amazing. Later, I looked on my little app and found out that ONE cake pop is 145 calories! I was whining to Jan, "But I didn't think that just one would hurt. After all, everyone was doing it!" We were laughing about that. Jan had three cake pops plus a slice of cake. She was going to do the diet with me, but has not had the drive to start yet. When I start seeing weight loss and my clothes start fitting better, it's all the drive I need to keep going. I love it!
Plus, we keep joking at work that I have to look smokin' at Taylor's wedding. hahaha!!
Because of that stupid cake pop, I had to limit my dinner calories, which sucked. We went to Wendy's for dinner. I had a chicken sandwich which put me over the allotted calories, so Emeli and I walked to Walmart and back to make up for it. Now I am so tired. But I still feel good.

Friday
I love Fridays, especially when I don't have to work or am on call.
Today I took Brett to see Sue, our Nurse Practitioner. She is awesome. She gave Brett a physical, spoke to him about a huge support group in SLC for gays and lesbians, and then she talked about being safe. I am taking Emeli to the Saturday clinic tomorrow because she has a sore throat, a low grade temp, body aches, nausea and a headache...all strep throat symptoms. Strep throat is running like gangbusters around here. I am so glad they have insurance with Fred. I was able to bring home the Gardisil shots for both Brett and Emeli AND able to give Emeli her booster for her chicken pox vaccine. That's a huge blessing. I have been wanting Brett to talk with Sue. She is a huge supporter of gay rights, women's rights and she is the one in charge of our Code R team. She is very knowledgeable about all those issues and is very active in community programs. She is hilarious when she starts talking about sex. She says if you give her one hour with kids in high school, none of them will want to have sex for a long time.
Robby has literally been working like a slave. He keeps telling me it is so that we can have a great vacation in WA for the wedding. I hope so. I hope he is alive to enjoy it because he is literally killing himself working so much.
Yesterday this 65 year old male patient was trying to get me to eat a Mexican treat he had. He had a bunch in his pockets. In a very oily Mexican accent, he said, "You need to try this. It is so good!" I told him no because I am trying to cut my sugars because I am on a diet. He kept pushing. I said no again. He finally pushed me and enough that I said yes so he would just shut up. As I was leaving the exam room, he said, with a nasty, greasy gleam in his eyes, "Oh, you are a woman! First the woman says 'no', then she says 'no' again, then she says, 'Yes'". I went out of the room and told the women in our office. They all made gagging sounds. Linda told me that this guy is such a creep that he was in jail for beating his 90 year old mother. Wow.
We are going to Logan tomorrow to see Zoe and little Liam. I'm very excited.

Tuesday
So last night little Zoe was hurt pretty seriously. We could have lost her bright little person. I adore Zoe. I never thought I could love a child that wasn't from my own flesh and blood, but I do. She is such a little dollie. Don't get me wrong, she can also be a little pistol and she has a HUGE temper. But I adore this little girl and I have been worried about her all day. I'm so grateful that she was spared from such a horrific accident.
To add to the sadness today, I saw a miscarried fetus. It was about four inches long and fully formed. It made me so sad.I can't imagine going through a miscarriage and finding that in your toilet. The lady brought it into the clinic to see if we wanted to run tests on it to see why she might have miscarried. All of us women were looking at it and just moaning. We are all mothers and we felt it deeply that this little baby didn't survive. It broke my heart.
So today I am grateful that I have never had to go through that trauma. I am grateful that all my children have been safely delivered and I am a mom. I am grateful that Zoe was spared and we still have that feisty little spirit with us. It would have broken me to have lost her. I am just very grateful.

okay...
so maybe I am going to have to change my goal. That's okay, right? Maybe I can say I will blog at least once a week because this every day thing is NOT happening.
So much has happened in the week that it is hard to update and get everything in without having a huge blog. So here goes:
Tuesday: Day off and spent the day cleaning, walking with Brett, hanging out at a coffee shop with Brett waiting for Game Stop to open so he could inquire into the newest Playstation thingee. While waiting, I discovered The Black Keys, an amazing group with lots of different sounds. So they are now on my iPod. Went on some work errands with Robby.
Wednesday: worked all day. I swear, every time I work all day, there are so many funny adventures at work. That's what I love about my job. Every day is so different.
Thursday: Worked in the morning, went on more work errands with Robby. He is working two jobs now and I don't really like it. He is always tired.
Friday: Worked in the afternoon and then went out to Thai food with Robby. Bought some new shoes (just as good of a high as smoking dope) and then came home and crashed.
Saturday: went to Ryan's dad's funeral. Very emotional and very long. Went to the mall with Emeli to get her some stuff and then went out to dinner at 10pm with the Murdock's. Robby worked from 6am until 10pm. Needless to say, when we got home, he crashed.
Sunday: slept in and just hung around the house.
Right now I am surfing the web and lounging before I have to run some errands and go to work this afternoon. Emeli and Brett are in charge of dinner because Robby is at work right now and when he gets off THAT job,he has to go help Jose dig holes and put up a huge sign for Richmond America. The poor man does not get any rest.
I wanted to punch Emeli on Saturday while we were grocery shopping. She turned to me and said, "Mom, I like it when Robby works two jobs." I gave her my stern, motherly sideways look and said, " I don't. He is gone all the time and he is always tired." Then Emeli realized what she had said and quickly corrected herself, "I don't like that he has to work all the time, but I like that we have a little more money and don't have to be so tight." I just looked at her again. Teenagers...
